What it does
A built-in DICOM viewer so X-rays, panoramics, and intra-oral images live inside the patient's file — not on a separate computer. Upload a DICOM, view it with proper window/level/zoom/pan, annotate, and attach to a visit.

- DICOM parser built-in
- Accepts standard .dcm files generated by intra-oral sensors, panoramic units, CBCT scanners and ultrasound. Pixel data, window/level, modality and patient header are parsed via dicom-parser and rendered in the browser.
- Window / level / zoom / pan
- Full diagnostic viewer controls — adjust window/level for soft-tissue vs. bone contrast, zoom for fine caries detection, pan around large CBCT volumes. Keyboard shortcuts and touch gestures both work.
- Annotations toolkit
- Mark up images with arrows, circles, rectangles, text labels, distance and angle measurements, and freehand drawing. Annotations save with the image and travel into the patient timeline.
- Linked to the visit
- Each image is attached to a specific patient visit and shows up alongside the SOAP note and prescription on that day. The visit is the unit of clinical truth — not a folder of orphaned files.
- Before/after pairing
- Pair pre-treatment and post-treatment images for visual comparison — orthodontic progress, restorative work, surgical outcomes. The paired view is one-click for case presentation or insurance submission.
- S3-isolated storage
- DICOM files are stored on S3-compatible object storage with strict per-tenant isolation. Thumbnails are generated on upload for fast portal access on mobile, and the full-resolution image is fetched on demand.
