Roles
Add-ons permission to configure. Only team members with a prescriber title (Doctor, etc.) can finalise and sign prescriptions.
01

Overview

Prescriptions is the medication side of clinical work. Build a drug catalog once, reuse dosage templates forever, and write a prescription in a minute. Allergy conflicts flag at write time; status moves from Draft → Issued → Dispensed as the script makes its way to the patient and the pharmacy.

02

Activation

  1. 1Dashboard → Add-ons → Prescriptions → Activate.
  2. 2Open Settings — set your clinic license number, prescription header/footer, default language, and toggles (show generic names, show diagnosis).
03

Drug catalog

Prescriptions → Drugs. The drug catalog is searchable and used throughout the add-on.

  • Add a drug: name, strength, form (tablet, syrup, injection), route (oral, IV), notes.
  • Edit anything; deactivate (not delete) drugs you no longer prescribe — historical prescriptions need them.
  • Import via CSV for bulk onboarding — the template is on the page.
04

Dosage templates

Dosage templates are reusable "drug + dose + frequency + duration + quantity" snippets. Prescriptions → Templates.

  1. 1Create a template — pick a drug, set dose ("500mg"), frequency ("3x daily"), duration ("7 days"), quantity.
  2. 2At write-time, add a template row with one click instead of typing the same line for the 400th time.
05

Writing a prescription

  1. 1Prescriptions → Create.
  2. 2Pick the client and the prescriber.
  3. 3Add medications — either from scratch or by dropping in a template.
  4. 4If the client has recorded allergies, a warning banner appears at the top if any added drug clashes.
  5. 5Save as Draft to keep editing, or Issue to finalise and generate the PDF.
06

Status workflow

Draft

Issued
Finalised, printable, visible on the client portal.
Dispensed

07

From an Issued prescription, hit Print for the pad layout or Download PDF for the branded letterhead version. The same prescription is auto-visible to the patient on their client portal — no extra work.

Tips

  • Build templates for your top 20 prescribing patterns. 95% of your scripts will come from those 20.
  • Record patient allergies on the client profile. The allergy check is only as good as that record.
  • Keep the license number accurate — most regulators require it on every printed prescription.
